  • REOPENING GUIDANCE

    PROPER STEPS TO RE-OPENING

    - For ALL Businesses (this is NEW - this link has not been share previously)
Use this form to affirm business compliance with the New York Forward reopening guidance. http://forms.ny.gov/s3/ny-forward-affirmation (We have been advised that you will not receive a confirmation from the state after completing this step).

    - Determine if your Business is Eligible: Before starting the steps to re-open it is important to make sure your business is eligible. You can easily find out by clicking here to the NY Forward Business Re-Opening Look-Up Tool

    - Know the Specific Guidelines for your Industry: If your business is eligible to re-open, it’s important to get to know the guidelines that are outlined for each business. This is new territory for both business owners and customers so familiarize yourself and staff to the rules. You can learn more about the specific guidelines for each industry by clicking here.

Develop a NY Forward Safety Plan Template:  Each business or entity, including those that have been designated as essential under Empire State Development's Essential Business Guidance, must develop a written Safety Plan outlining how its workplace will prevent the spread of COVID-19.   The template is available by clicking here.  A business may fill out the template to fulfill the requirement, or may develop its own Safety Plan. This plan does not need to be submitted to a state agency for approval but must be retained on the premises of the business and must made available to the New York State Department of Health (DOH) or local health or safety authorities in the event of an inspection.  (Important! If you are using the NY Forward Safety Plan Template be prepared to PRINT it.  We’ve been advised that if you ‘save’ it, your information is not saved and you will need to complete the template again.)
