DESCRIPTION:The Long Island Chrysanthemum Society presents: \n\nGrowing Exhibition Mums\, the Queen of the Fall Flowers\, free beginners workshops by John Capobianco   June 15th & August 17th\, 2024\, 1 pm at Farmingdale Village Hall\, 361 Main Street\n\n\n\nSPECTACULAR CHRYSANTHEMUMS!\n\n\n\nFree starter plants\, pots & soil\n\n \n\nThe Long Island Chrysanthemum Society is hosting two beginner\, hands-on workshops on growing football mums on Saturday\, June 15th and August 17th\, at 1:00pm\, at Farmingdale Village Hall\, 361 Main Street\, Farmingdale.\n\n \n\nThe workshops are open to all Long Islanders that want to learn the art of growing giant mums and is free to attend. Attendees will receive a free starter plant\, a container with soil\, along with step-by-step instructions for growing the Queen of the Fall Flowers.  The June 15th workshop is a prerequisite to attend the August 17th workshop.\n\n \n\nThe Long Island Chrysanthemum Society has a mentor program\, so anyone that takes a plant will have someone to consult with as you progress through the season.\n\n \n\nFarmingdale is home to some of the champion growers of mums on Long Island. Professor Paul Fogelberg (retired) of SUNY Farmingdale\, was the recipient of a national level award for his chrysanthemum bonsai at the 54th Annual Long Island Chrysanthemum Show.  Long time Farmingdale resident\, John E.
