Farmingdale American Legion Post 449 Installs New Commander
On November 16th, Arthur Pirozzi Jr. was sworn in as the new Commander of the Hugh C. Newman III American Legion Post 449 in Farmingdale by Pat Alesia, the new Nassau County Commander. Mr. Pirozzi is the fourth Commander of this post since its inception in 2002.
The post quietly works to assist and support the Farmingdale community by donating funds to the "Over the Hill" gang, providing scholarships for graduates at Farmingdale High School, sponsoring boys to attend the American Legion's "Boy's State" program and supporting other American Legion veterans’ programs that assist our Nation's veterans.
Meetings are usually held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7PM at the VFW Post 516 located at 635 Main Street. All veterans are welcome to attend and join the post.
